FAQ & limitations

What is KotoPanels for?

Preparing slide images and PDFs from copy you have already finished. You can paste text directly or import a CSV/table, choose a fixed style, adjust a brand and review the result.

How is the free trial different?

The free trial supports 1 post with up to 3 slides. A visible TRIAL mark is added to images and PDFs; these outputs are for evaluation, not client delivery. The full version supports up to 10 posts × 10 slides per batch without the trial mark.

Which languages can I use?

English and Japanese copy are supported within the included font’s character coverage. You can mix the two. Use the language buttons to change interface labels; they do not translate your copy. Post names used as file identifiers must use 1–40 Latin letters, numbers, dashes or underscores.

What about emoji, rare characters and symbols?

Emoji and variation selectors are not supported. Characters outside the included font’s coverage block export. The original input remains available for correction instead of being silently replaced. Use a supported character and check names and symbols in the exported files.

Why is export unavailable?

Look at the status and issue messages. Common causes are text that does not fit, an unsupported character, missing titles, duplicate or invalid post names, skipped page numbers, exceeding the version’s limits, unapplied CSV/table changes or pasted text waiting to be added. Click a slide issue to open its editor.

How do I handle long copy?

Edit the text or split the body at the cursor. A split repeats the title and divides the body exactly at the selected character boundary, adding a slide. You can edit the repeated title. Nothing is rewritten to connect the two slides, and the post’s slide limit still applies.

What can I change about the design?

Choose Paper, Midnight or Studio and set a brand name, accent color and optional PNG/JPEG logo. One brand applies to the whole batch. Fonts and object positions are fixed. There is no Canva template import or free drag-and-drop design.

Can I make work for different brands in one batch?

One brand setting applies to every slide in the batch. Export separate batches for different brands. Save brand file and Load brand let you reuse brand settings; use Save full draft to save the copy as well.

Are the PDFs editable or accessible text documents?

PDF pages are slide images. Text is not searchable, selectable or structured for screen readers. Edit the saved draft in KotoPanels, then export again. PNGs are 1080 × 1350 pixels.

Does it save automatically?

No. Save full draft downloads a JSON file containing finished slides, unfinished input and brand settings. Open draft restores it. Exports also include project.json. Keep your saved files; there is no cloud backup. The browser warns about unsaved work when it can, but this is not a backup.

How do I replace or clear a batch?

Save anything you want to keep first. Reloading the page starts an empty workspace. Load sample, Open draft and CSV import can replace the current draft after confirmation. You can also delete individual slides. Confirming replacement or deletion does not create an automatic backup.

What if I cannot reopen my draft?

Open draft accepts a KotoPanels project JSON file; Load brand accepts a brand JSON file. They are different formats. A full draft over 2.5 MB cannot be opened. Keep an untouched copy of your saved file. A full-version draft above trial limits must be reduced before exporting in the trial.

Does my input leave my device?

The app processes copy, logos and export files in your browser and does not upload them. The Japanese font is included in the package. There are no social connections or built-in trial-usage analytics. Your own storage, browser extensions or actions outside KotoPanels may have their own behavior.

Do I need an account, AI subscription or internet connection?

No. After the full package is downloaded and unzipped, KotoPanels runs locally. It does not use an AI service. Keep the accompanying files and fonts beside index.html.

Which browser should I use?

Mac desktop Chrome is the tested environment. Other browsers, Windows and phones are not verified. If the bundled Japanese font cannot load, reopen index.html from the fully extracted folder and keep the files together. The app displays a font-loading issue when one occurs.

Does it write, schedule or publish social posts?

No. It formats your completed copy. You remain responsible for checking output and uploading it to the service you choose. Reach, engagement, purchases and time savings are not guaranteed.

Can I purchase now, and where do I get support?

Paid licenses are not available to purchase yet. Purchase terms, the seller’s contact details and refund instructions will be shown before sales open. This package does not include an active checkout or a support contact.
